Applying Knowledge
Evidence Based Practice
Individual Level
Below is an example of an Individual Practice Analysis. This assignment was used as a reflective process after my 2nd clinical rotation where I chose a patient I treated and evaluated my performance. This presentation included an introduction to the patient, her diagnosis and impairments, treatments used to address her impairments, and a reflection on areas that could've been improved throughout her plan of care.

Clinical Experience II at Four Points Physical Therapy - Summer 2021
Compilation of Orthopedic Clinical Practice Guidelines
During my second clinical experience, I constructed two binders with printed out Clinical Practice Guidelines for orthopedic conditions published in the Journal of Orthopedic Sports Physical Therapy. The purpose behind this project was to encourage systematic and consistent evidence-based practice while treating injuries such as lateral ankle sprains, knee meniscal lesions, low back pain, etc.
Clinical Experience III at Encompass Health of Northern Virginia - Fall 2021
Presentation on Bariatric PT in Inpatient Rehabilitation
During my third clinical experience, I researched and presented on management of the bariatric patient. This presentation addressed differing body types and comorbidities associated with obesity, special considerations during the examination of a bariatric patient, correlations between body types and efficiency of transfers, and guidelines for education and exercise prescription for a bariatric patient.
Clinical Experience IV at CU Sports Medicine & Performance Center - Spring 2022
Presentation on Aquatic Therapy uses in Sports Medicine
During my final clinical experience, I constructed a presentation addressing indications on when to refer patients to the swim flume at this facility, physical properties of water that aid in rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, and benefits of aquatic therapy.
Faculty-Led Research Project
EBP - Group Level
I participated in a group of four students and two professors in a research project exploring interprofessional performance of Regis DPT students during clinical rotations. This project involved utilizing a validated tool known as the Interprofessional Professionalism Assessment to evaluate students' ability to collaborate with differing professionals in the healthcare setting in the areas of communication, respect, altruism and caring, excellence, ethics, and accountability.
Business & Health Policy
Business Project
Gaitway Physical Therapy & Athletic Development
During my last semester of PT school, I participated in a group project of six women who inspired a shared vision of building a hypothetical outpatient sports physical therapy business. We developed a 40-page business plan which described our company's mission and vision, legal structure, goals for growth, financial needs and prospects, marketing strategies, SWOT analysis of the competition, and many more components to ensure a successful business startup.
Health Policy & Advocacy
As I continue my professional journey, it is important to advocate for my patients on small and large levels. During my time as a student at Regis, I researched the legislative bill H.R. 5611 - Protecting Student Athletes from Concussions Act of 2020. I wrote an advocacy letter to Senator Michael Bennet and completed a position paper addressing the history of this issue as well as who supports the bill, the costs of implementation, and how concussion management guidelines for public schools will affect students and Physical Therapy as a profession.
